Mr. Klassen grew up in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He attended Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana and the Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana, completing his undergraduate studies in 1996 with a BA in Business and Religious Studies. He then returned to Saskatchewan to attend law school at the University of Saskatchewan. After graduating in 2000 with an LLB he spent a year studying French and working in Montreal, Quebec. In 2001 he commenced his articles with a refugee law firm in Vancouver. After completing articles he was called to the BC Bar in January 2003, after which he opened his own practice initially focussing on Immigration and Criminal Law. He remains a sole practitioner to date, having appeared before all divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board, the Provincial Court of BC, the Supreme Court of BC, the BC Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Canada. In 2014 he moved the location of his practice to Port Coquitlam, BC where he currently resides with his family.
Mr. Klassen enjoys volunteering in his community with the Parent Advisory Committees at his children’s schools as well as leading the District Parent Advisory Committee for School District 43.

Christopher Liu was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. He received a Bachelor of Human Kinetics with a minor in Psychology from the University of British Columbia. He completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Saskatchewan. It was in law school where he developed a strong interest in immigration law.
Chris articled with Marvin L. Klassen. He was called to the BC Bar in September 2018.
In his free time, Chris enjoys bouldering, yoga, hiking, and snowshoeing. He grew up playing hockey and volleyball.
